Shri Devender Kumar Sikri is a career bureaucrat having served in the Government for 38 years. He has handled a wide range of responsibilities in the Government of India and in the State Government of Gujarat. He holds an M.Phil degree as well as Master’s Degree in Advanced Mathematics. He also holds a post-graduate diploma in Public Administration from the Indian Institute of Public Administration, Delhi. He has held several important positions with the Government of India such as Census Commissioner of India, Secretary, Ministry of Women & Child Development, and Secretary, Government of India for the Department of Justice, in the Ministry of Law & Justice. He has extensive experience in the corporate sector, both at the industry level, and also at the policy level. In his role as the Joint Secretary, Department of Fertilizer, he chaired the Inter-Ministerial Group on the rationalization of the pricing policy for decontrolled phosphatic/ potassic fertilizer. He has served on the Boards of several fertilizer manufacturing companies such as National Fertilizer Limited, Rashtriya Chemicals and Fertilizers Limited, Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative Limited, Krishak Bharati Cooperative Limited, Paradeep Phosphates Limited, The Fertilizers and Chemicals Travancore Limited (FACT).
