Christopher Rother is a German attorney-at-law. He heads the anti-trust department of Deutsche Bahn AG since 1997. With 24 dedicated anti-trust lawyers his team is considered to be one of the biggest inhouse competition departments in Europe. 2 lawyers in his team focus on merger control and general proceedings, 3 lawyers on state aid cases, 5 lawyers on regulatory issues and 7 lawyers are responsible for anti-trust compliance and competition advice for the entire Deutsche Bahn group. In addition, his team includes a dedicated unit with 6 lawyers responsible for private enforcement of competition claims.Before joining Deutsche Bahn AG, Mr. Rother worked in private practice in Cologne and Berlin, from 1992 - 1997, focussing on German and European competition law. From 1989 - 1992, he served as assistant professor at the Institute of German and International Anti-trust Law at the University of Berlin (Freie Universität Berlin).
