Zoë Paliare is an associate in Gowlings’ Toronto office, practising in the area of advocacy. Zoë’s practice includes a variety of commercial litigation and insurance defence matters, including contractual disputes, class actions, occupiers’ liability and product liability. In addition, Zoë has experience providing legal advice to and defending those charged with provincial offences, particularly commercial motor vehicle carriers and drivers facing prosecution for transportation-related offences. Zoë both summered and articled at Gowlings in the advocacy department. During her articles she also completed a secondment at Toronto Community Housing Corporation. While in law school, Zoë competed in and won the Arnup Cup trial advocacy moot and moved on to compete nationally in the Sopinka Cup where she received the Best Overall Advocate award.
