Yasar Tekdemir is a graduate of Faculty of Political Science in Ankara. He was awarded a MSC. in European Studies at London School of Economics with a Jean Monnet scholarship where he had the opportunity to write a thesis on the subject of “collective dominance under EC Competition Law” in 1999. He was awarded another master degree in Science and Technology Policy Studies (MSC) at Middle East Technical University (METU) in Ankara in 2001. Yasar Tekdemir has worked as Director of International Relations of the Turkish Competition Authority (TCA). He was hired as an assistant expert on competition as a result of a highly competitive entrance examination by the TCA in 1997. He was appointed competition expert in 2001. As a professional staff of the TCA, he worked as case-handler and took part in many case-handling teams dealing with restrictive agreements, mergers, unilateral conducts and privatization and liberalization transactions as ?head of team’ till March of 2004.
