Victoria Mertikopoulou joined the Hellenic Competition Commission in 2004. She was appointed as Commissioner – Rapporteur, Member of the Board of the Hellenic Competition Commission in 2012. Prior to that, she served as Head of Unit in the Directorate of Legal Services of the Directorate General of Competition thereof. She has been working in the European Competition Law field for more than 12 years. She holds a Ph.D. and a Bachelor’s degree from the Faculty of Law of the University of Athens. She also holds a Master’s degree (LL.M.) from the Law Faculty of University College London (UCL), specializing in European and European competition law. She is an attorney-at-law admitted to practice in the Athens’ Bar and, before joining the Commission, she has worked as a practitioner in law firms and as a trainee at the Court of Justice of the European Union. She has academic publications in international and Greek law journals and has given lectures at several conferences and universities on her areas of expertise. She speaks English, French and German.
