Dr Valerio Torti is an Italian attorney and PhD graduate from the University of Southampton (UK). His research explored the interaction between competition law and intellectual property rights (patents) in the field of standard setting. During his academic career, he spent periods of research in the United States, visiting Fordham University NY and the University of Wisconsin. He has later been Post-doctoral Fellow at the National University of Singapore, Centre for Law and Business, and occupied various research positions at the University of Zurich, LUISS Guido Carli, the University of Lausanne and the European University of Rome. He is currently a Jean Monnet Fellow at the European University Institute and a member of the Technical Programme Committee at the International Telecommunication Union.
