Thierry Fossier

Thierry Fossier was born in a family of historian scholars. He studied law at Paris-Assas University and was then appointed judicial judge. He devoted the first half of his career to the protection of families, children and adults in difficulty. He founded the Justice of the Peace Association. He was later appointed to various Courts of Appeal where he settled commercial disputes, first as Counselor and then as Court President. He was appointed President of one of the Paris Court of Appeal’s divisions where he first worked in the bank and stock exchange department before joining the economic regulation department in charge of examining appeals against decisions made by independent administrative authorities. In addition to his judicial activities, Thierry Fossier became a Doctor in private law, teaches history of the law and corporate repressive law, and publishes works relating mainly to the protection of vulnerable adults and to civil law procedure.
