Suzanne Carval

Suzanne Carval (1966-2018) was a professor and the director of the M2 degree in Insurance Law at the faculty of law of Rouen (France). She was a graduate of the universities of King’s College London (LLB, 1988) and Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne (maîtrise en droits français et anglais 1988, DEA de droit privé général 1989, doctorat en droit privé 1993). She teached and researched in the law of contract and tort, and had an interest in comparative law. She published in these fields, especially in the Revue des contrats. She had contributed to the edition of the Traité de la responsabilité civile, by G. Viney and P. Jourdain (LGDJ ed. 2013). She was a member of the European Group on Tort Law, whose work led to the publication of the European Principles of Tort Law (2005, Springer ed.).
