Manuel Nagel is a member of the Practice Area Competition, EU & Trade of TaylorWessing in Dusseldorf. Before, he was a principal associate in the antitrust, competition and trade practice group of Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP in Cologne. He advises on the full spectrum of European and German competition law. Stephan Manuel Nagel was born in Bonn in 1979. He completed his legal education at the University of Bonn (1999-2004). He was awarded the degree of Master of Laws (LLM) from the European University Institute (Florence) in 2005. He served his legal traineeship (Referendariat), inter alia, at the Regional Court of Cologne (Chamber for Commercial Affairs), at the Federal Cartel Office (Bundeskartellamt), Bonn, at the Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP office in Cologne and at the 1st Cartel Senate of the Higher Regional Court, Düsseldorf. Stephan Manuel Nagel joined Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP as an associate in 2009. In 2011, he spent a five months secondment to the Antitrust and Energy Law department (group management level) of one of the firm’s major energy clients. He is the author of publications on the application of competition law to the energy sector and member of the Cologne Bar and of the German and of the Cologne Lawyers’ Associations.
