Spanish born, Sofía Yagüe is a quintessential cross border lawyer with a problem solving attitude. Sofia not only holds both civil and common law legal degrees, but she has also studied business, which allows her to understand the economic side of the transactions she works in. Sofia focuses her practice on international corporate transactions, which often involve significant tax issues. Prior to joining Private Advising Group, Sofía was a foreign associate at Greenberg Traurig’s Miami office in the Corporate and Securities International Practice Group. Earlier in her career, Sofía was an associate at Cuatrecasas, Gonçalves Pereira (Best Spanish Law Firm according to the 2014 European Chambers and Partners Awards) where she was a member of the firm’s select International Pro Advocacy Program (PPAI). While at Cuatrecasas she worked on complex international corporate and tax matters, with particular emphasis on planning and optimizing real estate investments in Spain by nonresident aliens and analyzing the applicability of the ETVE regime for routing investments towards Latin America. Sofía holds Masters in Corporate Law (LL.M.) from New York University School of Law and a Law Degree from CEU San Pablo University in Madrid. In addition to her legal education, Sofia holds a Business Administration Degree, with a specialization in Marketing, from CEU San Pablo University in Madrid and received part of her education at the European Business School in London, UK. She is licensed to practice only in Spain, and is fluent in English and Spanish and proficient in French
