Riccardo Franceschi is an associate of the EU, Competition and Energy regulation group of Eversheds, being involved in many regulatory and competition issues related to the public utilities sectors. He has represented primary national and international clients, active mainly in gas and electricity business, including renewable energies, in a number of administrative and judicial proceedings before the Italian Antitrust Authority, Italian Energy Authority, Ministry for the Economic Development, European Commission, Court of Justice, Regional Administrative Court and Civil Courts. He has been also involved in a wide range of antitrust issues, dealing in particular with merger control issues. Before joining the firm, he worked for other domestic and international law firms based in Milan and Rome, specialising in energy regulation, antitrust and corporate issues. Previously he worked for the Ministry of Finance, Privatisation and Finance Department, specialising in state – owned companies corporate affairs. He graduated in law (J.D.) from the University of Rome, and also attended the Universidad del Pais Vasco, Bilbao (2004), the Edinburgh University (2007) and the Cambridge University (2008). In 2008 he was awarded a Master of Economics in Antitrust and Public Utilities Regulation from the University of Rome. Of Italian mother tongue, he speaks English and Spanish.
