Pedro Caro de Sousa was a competition expert with the OECD between 2015 and 2021, where he worked on a variety of competition-related topics, before joining the European Commission’s Legal Service (Competition Team) in 2022. He is a qualified lawyer in Portugal and a barrister of England and Wales, having worked for Linklaters LLP between 2005 and 2014. He obtained a DPhil from the University of Oxford in 2012, where he was a tutor in EU and competition law. Before joining the OECD, Pedro was a lecturer in Law at the University of Reading, and a tutor at King’s College, University of London. He was also a Visiting Scholar at the European University Institute and an Associate Research Fellow at New York University’s School of Law.
