General Director of Investigation

Pedro Marques Bom is the General Director of Investigation at Portguese Competition Authority. He oversees the Restrictive Practices Department, the Merger Department and the Legal Department, as well as the day-to-day operations. Prior to joining the Authority he was Senior Associate in the EU and Competition Law Department of PLMJ - Law Firm (2009-2013). He was Advisor to the Board (2007-2008) and Legal Officer (2003-2006) at Portuguese Competition Authority. He was also Director of the Competition Department at Portuguese Health Authority (from 2006 to 2007). He worked as a lawyer from 2001 to 2003. He holds two postgraduate diplomas: in Competition and Industrial Property Law, from Santiago de Compostela University and in Banking and Capital Markets, from Coimbra University. Pedro is fluent in Portuguese, English and Spanish.
