Michele Carpagnano is partner at Dentons and the head of the Italian competition and antitrust practice. He was previously associate at Gianni Origoni Grippo Cappelli partners. He holds a teaching position in Competition Law at University of Trento, Faculty of Law and is Co-Director of the Osservatorio Permanente sull’Applicazione delle regole di Concorrenza, a Trento University Research Center. He holds a Degree in Law from Trento University (2003) and a PhD cum laude in EU and Private Comparative Law from the University of Trento and the Autonoma University of Madrid (2008). Michele Carpagnano has been involved in several cases before the Italian Competition Authority in cases concerning anticompetitive conducts, including appeals before administrative courts (public enforcement). He has been involved in several cases and class actions before domestic courts concerning antitrust infringements (private enforcement). He gained a wide experience in environment and food sectors as well as consumer protection laws Michele is author of several articles on competition and antitrust law. He has been admitted to practice law in Italy. He speaks Italian, English and Spanish.
