Michel Roseau is a partner in Orrick’s Paris office and member of the Antitrust and Competition Group. Mr. Roseau focuses his practice on European Union and Competition law, and advises clients in multiple sectors, with an emphasis on the energy and transportation industries. He has an extensive background in litigation and merger control notifications, both as a regulator and in private practice. From 2002 to 2006, Mr. Roseau directed the antitrust unit at the French Office of Fair Trading (Direction Générale de la Concurrence), where he managed numerous extensive antitrust investigations and appeared before the Paris Court of Appeal many times. Prior to that, Mr. Roseau worked for France’s Ministry of Economy and Finance and for the Ministry of European Affairs. Mr. Roseau studied at HEC, ENA and Sciences-Po Paris, and holds a DEA post-graduate degree in Comparative law (University of Paris II). He has published several articles in the Competition Review (Revue Concurrences) journal. He is currently ranked in Legal 500 EMEAand Chambers Europe, which noted in its 2013 edition that Mr. Roseau "draws upon his considerable experience at the French Office of Fair Trading for his antitrust work" and is "a skilled technician."
