Emmanuel Mastromanolis is a partner at Zepos & Yannopoulos, specializing in corporate, commercial, antitrust, trademarks, distribution and bankruptcy law, as well as in Mergers and Acquisitions. In Competition Law, his practice ranges from the filing of pre-merger and post merger notifications of transactions on behalf of clients (including horizontal agreements, vertical agreements and concentrations) to representation of clients that are subject to investigations before the competition authorities and Administrative courts. The most recent cases Emmanuel has handled include advising a leading Spanish energy producer, with respect to the establishment of a joint venture with one of the leading Greek petroleum companies, filing with the DG-COMP of the European Commission a notification of the establishment of a joint venture between one of the largest food retailers in Greece, and a subsidiary of the Commercial Bank of Greece (scheduled to be active in the provision of credit services using the retail facilities of the food retailer ), advising a food retailer in connection to its alleged involvement (on a count of resale price maintenance) in the “Milk cartel” case and representing the food retailer before the Hellenic Competition Commission and the Administrative Court of Appeals and finally conducting the antitrust auditing of the Greek subsidiary of a US manufacturer of toilet paper and kitchen towels. Emmanuel holds an undergraduate law degree from the University of Athens, Faculty of Law, and has earned his master’s in Corporate, International Trade and Antitrust Law from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 1989. He has finally received his doctorate (S.J.D.) from the same U.S. law school in Comparative Antitrust Law (1994). Concurrently, Emmanuel Mastromanolis is Lecturer of Commercial Law at the Faculty of Law of the University of Athens, teaching a wide array of subjects, including Competition Law, Corporate Law, and Law of Commercial Contracts.
