Luca Di Mauro is currently Director of Product Strategy at Facebook. Prior to that, he was strategy lead at Microsoft Xbox, where he was in charge of the M&A program and brought deals worth $8B+ to completion, including the second largest acquisition in gaming. Previously Luca was senior economist at DG Competition of the European Commission, where he led the e-commerce inquiry team investigating competition problems in online media, and before that, he enforced the EU’s state aid rules in the energy sector and drafted the guidelines for public funding of energy projects. Earlier, as chief economist of Sky Italia, he informed the broadcaster’s commercial and strategic decisions through advanced quantitative analysis. Prior to that, Luca was an economic adviser at Ofcom and a UK national expert at DG Competition, where he worked on the EU Regulatory Framework for Electronic Communications. Luca holds a MSc Economics from the University of Warwick and a MS Management from Stanford Graduate School of Business, and taught a postgraduate course on the economics of networks at the College of Europe.
