Liyang Hou is Professor of Competition Law, Assistant Dean of International Relations,
Director of the Center for European Law, Director of the Center for Law and Economics, and
Deputy Director of the Center for Competition Law and Policy at KoGuan Law School,
Shanghai Jiao Tong University (Shanghai). He obtained his doctor of law at Katholieke
Universiteit Leuven (Belgium). In 2007-2011 he worked as an assistant researcher at the
Interdisciplinary Centre for Law and ICT (ICRI) of Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (Belgium).
He started his professorship at KoGuan since 2011 until now. Liyang’s research covers a
variety of domains, including competition law, platform regulation and telecom regulation. He
has published about 10 books and more than 60 academic articles in internationally
renowned journals, such as Common Market Law Review, Computer Law & Security Review,
and Telecommunications Policy. Liyang is a board member of a number of academic journals,
such as Computer Law & Security Review and CPI TechREG, member of quite some
international and national academic associations, e.g. Academic Society of Competition Law
and China Economic Law Association, and competition expert at China’s competition
authorities.
