Lia Szabó is associate at Oppenheim (Budapest). Prior to that, she was a member of the anti-trust competition and trade (ACT) practice group of Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, Budapest. She specialises in competition law, civil law and intellectual property law. She graduated from the Eötvös Loránd University School of Law, Budapest in 2004. During her university studies she was a member of the István Bibó College of Law. In 2002 she studied one semester in the Netherlands at the University of Tilburg as part of a scholarship programme and obtained the Certificate on European Law. She received a Magister Juris (LL.M) degree in International Economic and Business Law from the University of Groningen in 2005. In the same year she joined the Budapest Office of Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer. She speaks Hungarian, English and German.
