Kirsten Bachour is political administrator in charge of Bugdet and Financial Regulations at the Secretary General of the Council of the European Union. She joined the Council in 2008 and worked as a jurist linguist. Prior to joining this institution, she was ESC Legal Counsel with AstraZeneca and had previous experiences as Case Handler at the Directorate General for Competition of the European Commission and as Associate with Linklaters and Freshfields. She passed her first State State Exam, Law in European and Public International Law at the University of Kiel. She obtained an LL.M. in Trade and Public International Law from the University of Cape Town and passed the second State Exam in European Law at Kammergericht Berlin.
