

Kaarli Harry Eichhorn
Kaarli Harry Eichhorn is a partner at Jones Day (Brussels). He has acted on a significant number of high-profile and politically sensitive merger matters globally for more than 15 years. Prior to joining Jones Day in 2018, Kaarli was the global executive counsel of competition law & policy at General Electric Company (GE), based in Brussels. During his 10-year tenure at GE he led global teams within and outside the company and regularly negotiated with competition authorities and governments. He also handled a significant amount of GE’s counseling and compliance-related activities (training, guidance, internal investigations, and audits) within the company’s various business divisions and regularly handled matters related to cartel and abuse of dominance issues. Earlier in his career, Kaarli was a Swedish Advokat (a member of the Swedish Bar) and an attorney with Clifford Chance LLP, where he practiced European competition law and advised on EU law and regulatory matters. He also is a non-governmental advisor at the International Competition Network, a former vice chair of the In-House Counsel Competition Counsel Association, and a member of the Competition Committee of BusinessEurope and the American Bar Association. He has held leadership roles at the AmCham EU (American Chamber of Commerce to the European Union) and was a member of the board of the European Justice Forum for several years. Kaarli has spoken often at international conferences on competition policy and has authored articles and a textbook on competition law. In 2012, Kaarli was awarded the European Counsel Award in the category “Competition – Individual of the Year” (Association of Corporate Counsel Europe and the International Law Office).
