Julia Patrick

Based at the ECI and Law Faculty, Julia is currently working as part of an inter-disciplinary team on an EPSRC-funded project called WICKED (Working with Infratructure, Creation of Knowledge, and Energy strategy Development). The project explores energy management issues and solutions in the retail sector, including the use and impact of organisational practices and green leases. Julia’s research and wider interests include energy management generally, the green economy, community energy, social innovation and sustainable lifestyles.She has a BA Hons in Law from Cambridge University and an MSc in Environmental Change and Management from the University of Oxford. She has worked at the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) and the European Commission (DG Competition), and early in her career as a commercial solicitor. Most recently, she helped set up the Oxford-based Low Carbon Hub and then worked as a researcher at the ECI, coordinating ECI and Low Carbon Oxford’s Oxfordshire Low Carbon Economy project. Her freelance portfolio has included work with Oxford City Council, Oxfordshire County Council, Low Carbon Oxford and ClientEarth. Julia sits on the board of Oxford North Community Renewables (ONCORE).
