José María Marín-Quemada

National Commission of Markets and Competition (CNMC)

Dr. Marín-Quemada is the Chairman of the National Authority for Markets and Competition (CNMC) since September 2013. Before that he was a member of the Governing Council of the Spanish Central Bank. He is Full Professor, Department of Applied Economics (UNED), where he taught PhD. courses about “Energy Economics and Policy”. PhD. in Economics at Universidad Complutense de Madrid. Member of the Scientific Council the Elcano Royal Institute. Dr. Marín has reconciled his academic dedication with a professional career in the private energy sector.
