Professor

Dr Jessica Su is an Associate Professor at the Division of U.S. Economic Research, Institute of American Studies, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS). Dr Su’s research focuses on comparative competition policy and governance, and investment and trade policy. Prior to her current positions, Dr Su was a postdoctoral fellow at the Institute of Law, CASS, and a research consultant to Professor Allan Fels AO, Dean of the Australia and New Zealand School of Government from 2010–2013, a consultant at the law firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP in Beijing from 2007–2010 and a consultant at the Competition Division of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) in Paris in 2007. Dr Su has worked on a variety of projects including cross-border mergers and acquisitions, cartel investigations and litigation, distribution practices, abuse of dominance, and the interface between antitrust, trade and intellectual property matters. She has been involved in the drafting of the implementing regulations and capacity building projects of China’s Anti-Monopoly Law and enforcement. Dr Su holds an LLB from Zhengzhou University, an LLM (commercial law) with distinction from University College Dublin and a PhD in law from Queen Mary, University of London. She was admitted to practice law in the People’s Republic of China in 1999
