Jan Blockx currently works at the University of Antwerp’s Faculty of Law, where he also did his PhD entitled "Mens rea in EU antitrust law: when intentions matter". He is also working part-time for the Belgian Competition Authority as assessor. Prior to his academic career, he worked as a private practice lawyer at international law firms Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer and Hogan Lovells (2006-2016). His research interests mainly concerns the interplay between (European) regulation and the economy, covering areas such as competition law, state aid, the internal market, the common commercial policy and technology regulation.
