Huawei Lin is a Partner at the Beijing office of Paul Hastings. He practices in the areas of private equity, venture capital, M&A, banking and structured finance in relation to the People’s Republic of China. He represents major U.S. and European private equity funds, investment banks, multinational companies and commercial banks. Mr. Lin assists clients in such sectors as manufacturing, telecommunications, real estate, securities, insurance, automotive, pharmaceutical, shipping, construction, architectural design, entertainment, hotel management, coal and gold mining, foreign trade, foreign funded schools, education and language testing. Mr. Lin serves on the mediator panel list of the China International Chamber of Commerce Mediation Center. His major publications include: Invest in China: An Introduction of the Incorporation Process in China (Hong Kong: Joint Publishing & Law Press, May 2002, English version), Set up Your Business in Mainland China (Hong Kong: Joint Publishing & Law Press, January 2002, traditional Chinese character version), Company Law: Theory, Structure and Operation (translation, Oxford Textbook Translation Series) (Beijing: Law Press, 2001, simplified Chinese version), and Legal Guide to Foreign Investment in China (Beijing: China Economic Press, 2000, English and simplified Chinese versions). In addition to the foregoing books, Mr. Lin is also a frequent contributor to a number of legal and business focused magazines. He obtained his Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree from New York University in 2006 and his Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree from Beijing University Law School in 1991. Mr. Lin was admitted to the New York Bar in 2007. He passed the bar in China in 1994.
