Ricardo Inglez de Souza was a partner of the Competition Practice Group at Demarest e Almeida and was also active in the International Trade Practice and Product Liability Groups. He works now as a legal adviser at Hamburg Süd. He advises domestic and international clients in all competition law matters, including merger notifications, investigations on competition violations, leniency, compliance programs and distribution practices. He advises clients in complex international trade issues, including trade barriers, antidumping and safeguard proceedings and has large experience with recall proceedings in Brazil. He graduated from Faculdade de Direito da Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo - PUC-SP in 2000. He was the director for foreign trade at IBRAC - Brazilian Institute of Studies on Competition, Consumer Affairs and International Trade, a member of FIESP - Federal of Industries of São Paulo, and taught at the University Extension Center and at ESA - Superior School of Law. Between 2002 and 2005, he represented Demarest e Almeida at Marval, O’Farrell & Mairal, its partner firm in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He also participated in the Training for Young Lawyers at the Brazilian Mission in Geneva at WTO, in 2005.
