Dr. Heba Shahein trained as both an economist and a lawyer in Egypt, she has a Master in European Law from the University of Amsterdam, the Netherlands; and a PhD in Law from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). She has gained considerable legal experience in Shalakany Law Firm, Cairo, and working as a consultant for several years in London for Pirola Pennuto Zei & Associati Law firm in London and Digesta Law firm, in Greece. In addition, Dr Shahein has developed insights into the strategic problems of firms themselves, through this work and through many years of legal work in-house for both Shell International and the Egypt Kuwaiti Holding Company. Finally, several years working in the Egyptian Competition Authority gave Dr Shahein important insights into how regulatory authorities work, as well as access to government. Dr Shahein works in Cairo and London. Shahein has built up a premier network of international legal and business experts in, amongst others: Brazil, Colombia, Greece, Italy, Switzerland, Thailand, and the United Kingdom.
