


Flavio Laina
Flavio Laina is Head of the Intelligence, Analysis and Forensic IT support unit in the Directorate General for Competition of the European Commission. He has held several Head of unit positions in DG Competition, Mergers in the sectors of Energy and Environment, Cartel settlements and, since 2016, the specialised ex-officio investigative unit in the Cartel Directorate. Flavio Laina is an economist by training. He joined the European Commission in 1994, after a professional experience in the financial markets in Italy. He has worked in all the operational areas of DG Competition: State aid, Antitrust, Cartels and Mergers.
