Ernesto Bonafé works as a trade and regulatory expert at the Secretariat of the Energy Charter Treaty. He focuses on institutional and legal issues of energy markets and international relations. Previously he was energy training coordinator at the Florence School of Regulation. Ernesto Bonafé’s research interests cover the institutional system and legal order of the energy sector in the EU and the Mediterranean region. He holds a PhD from the Law Department of the European University Institute, Florence, Italy, and an LLM in EU law from the Université Libre de Bruxelles, Belgium. He obtained his bachelor Law Degree at the Universidad de Valencia, Spain, which included one academic year at the Université de Savoie, France. He worked as legal collaborator in law firms in Valencia (Asiaín Asesores) and Brussels (Lallemand & Legros), and had internship at the European Commission, the European Parliament, and the European Court of Justice.
