Elizabeth Farina is, since February 2023, professor at the School of Economics, Business and Accounting of the University of São Paulo. Elizabeth Farina was president and CEO of the Brazilian Sugarcane Industry Association (UNICA). She was Professor at the University of Sao Paulo from 1982 to 2012, and chaired the Department of Economics from 2002 to 2004 and from 2011 to 2012. From 2008 to 2011 she was the Vice-Chair of the Department of Economics at the University of Sao Paulo. She holds PhD in Economics from the University of Sao Paulo since 1983 and Tenure ("Livre Docencia") since 1996. She served as President of CADE (The Brazilian Competition Commission) from 2004 to 2008. She taught Industrial Organization and Microeconomics at the same department. Elizabeth Farina served as Graduate Course Coordinator in the Department of Economics. She has advised more than 30 thesis and dissertations on the subjects of Regulation, Competition Policy and Agribusiness. She worked as a consultant in Brazil and other Latin America countries and as Economic expert in food and agribusiness strategies and antitrust litigation and mergers and acquisition analysis. Elizabeth Farina published 8 books, 14 book chapters and 25 papers in national and international journals.
