Donncadh studied law at University College Dublin and is an Irish Solicitor. He previously worked as an in house counsel in Irish Distillers 1986 - 1993. In 1993 he left Irish Distillers and joined the Competition Directorate of the European Commission. Donncadh has wide experience of both competition enforcement and policy making. He is currently Deputy Head of the Antitrust and Merger Policy and Scrutiny Unit.
