Professor of Law at the University of Athens and a member of the Bar of Athens. He is a graduate of the Universities of Athens (LL.B., 1976), Tubingen/Germany (Dr. iur., 1982) and Michigan (LL.M., 1985). Between June 1995 and March 1999 he was Member and between October 2000 and October 2003 Chairman of the Hellenic Competition Commission (National Competition Authority). From October 2003 to July 2004 he served as Chief Legal Counsel and from July 2004 until June 2006 as General Director of Regulatory Affairs of the Hellenic Telecommunications Organization (OTE) Group. From July 2006 to January 2008 he held the position of Chief Legal Counsel of EFG Eurobank. He is currently Member of the Legal Council of the Bank of Greece (Central Bank) and Vice President of the Association of Greek Commercialists. He is also Member of the Advisory Board of several Greek Law Reviews (NoB, DEE, DiMEE, EEmpD). He has published books and articles on Competition Law, Unfair Trade Practices, Trademarks, Corporate and Consumer Protection Law in Greek English and German. Prof. Tzouganatos has served as member or Chairman of several Arbitral Tribunals.
