Diego Fornaciari is an attorney with resolut. boutique law firm in Belgium. Diego obtained special expertise within the healthcare sector both as healthcare lawyer and as in-house legal counsel. He therefore has a 360° view of the complexity and sensitivities that characterize the sector. In 2011 Diego obtained a doctoral degree at the Faculty of Law of the KU Leuven with his thesis "The interaction between competition law and the right to high-quality patient care". As a lawyer Diego worked in various firms specialised in healthcare law. The knowhow he built up during this period was later on complemented with the pragmatics that were required as legal and strategic policy advisor at the AZ Delta Hospital in Roeselare. In that role, Diego provided legal support for the implementation of two merger projects, a new electronic health record (EHR) and the establishment of a regional clinical hospital network. Although Diego will focus on healthcare law in the broadest sense, he has a special interest in the legal aspects of "entrepreneurship" and innovation in healthcare.
