David Martimort is Director at the Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales (EHESS) and holds a chair at the Paris School of Economics. He graduated from the University of Toulouse, the Ecole Polytechnique and has been Professor « agrégé » from the French University. He has previously taught at Harvard, Pau and Toulouse. David is a specialist in regulation, industrial organization, political economy, mechanism design and economics of contracts. He is the co-author of a landmark book « The Theory of Incentives » (Princeton University Press, 2002), written with Jean-Jacques Laffont. He has published broadly in international academic reviews (Econometrica, American Economic Review, Review of Economic Studies, Journal of Economic Theory, The Rand Journal of Economics, Journal of Public Economics). David is a Fellow of the Econometric Society and the European Economic Association. He is one of the editors of the Rand Journal of Economics, and was or is an associate editor of the Journal of Economic Theory, Econometrica and Theoretical Economics, International Journal of Industrial Organization.
