Catherine Lamarre-Dumas graduated from McGill University, where she received a bachelor’s degree in civil law and in common law in 2001. She was a member of the Editorial Board of the McGill Law Journal from 1998 to 2000 and is currently a member of the McGill Law Young Alumni Advisory Board. Mtre. Lamarre-Dumas also obtained a bachelor’s degree in Philosophy from Université de Montréal in 1997. Ms. Lamarre-Dumas was called to the Quebec Bar in 2002. Since then, she specializes in the areas of life and disability insurance, competition law as well as class actions. She has represented defendant companies and public bodies in class actions involving issues such as extra-contractual liability and environmental law. Catherine Lamarre-Dumas is deeply involved in the affairs of her profession. She is a member of the Montreal Bar’s Ethics and Advocate’s Image Committee. She is also a member of the Canadian Bar Association. Ms. Lamarre-Dumas is co-author of the Manuel de droit de la concurrence (Les Éditions Yvon Blais Inc., 2004) which was awarded the "Répertoire" prize from the Fondation du Barreau du Québec.
