Bernadette Willemot studied law at the universities of Namur and Ghent (1996), followed by a DES in International law at the UCL (1997) and a DEC in International Relations (1998). She has been carrying out research on EU administrative law at the Institut d’Etudes Europ√©ennes of UCL between 1998 and 2001 combined with a one year practice at the Brussels bar. She joined the European Commission in 2001. She worked for seven years at DG Competition in the State aid directorates, in particular in the State aid recovery and enforcement unit. She joined the Competition unit in DG AGRI in 2007. She published some articles on the interaction of national administrative law and EU law, as well as on State aid matters.
