Eleonore Mayer (ex Bengtsson) is an associate in the Corporate Group at Bird & Bird in Abu Dhabi and her practice focuses on general corporate matters and corporate transactions as well as regulatory and employment matters. She had broad experience advising clients on doing business and making foreign investment into the UAE, including corporate structuring and reorganizations in the UAE and the wider Middle East, across a wide range of industries and sectors. From a transactional perspective she has acted on a range of corporate transactions including acquisitions, disposals, and joint ventures both locally and cross-border. In addition to her corporate practice she also advises domestic and international clients on a variety of employment matters such as employment and director agreements, employee incentives and benefits, and employment aspects of transactions as well as redundancy and termination issues. She has been based in the UAE nearly ten years and during this time she has learnt to adapt to the ever-changing legal landscape and she is well-versed with the peculiarities that clients may face when trying to do business in the UAE. Before moving to the UAE, she practiced law in London, New York and Stockholm. She is admitted to the New York State Bar and is also qualified in Sweden.
