António Carlos Fernandes Teixeira is Senior Economist at DG DEVCO’s Economic Team (European Commission) and an Assistant Professor of Economics at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Porto (FEP), Portugal. He has worked previously in several departments of DG Competition of the European Commission (02/2004 until 03/2013), including the Task Force for the Financial Crisis (recapitalization and restructuring aid to Spanish banks in the context of the Spanish financial sector programme), the Policy and Scrutiny department and the Financial Services antitrust unit. He holds a PhD in Economics, European Doctoral Programme, Université Catholique de Louvain (research Student at Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales, Paris (France) in the advanced year of the European Doctoral Programme) and graduated from the University of Coimbra.
