András is a member of the cabinet of Karmenu Vella, European Commissioner. He advises the Commissioner on institutional issues and affairs, justice and home affairs, employment and social policy, regional policy, digital agenda and is in charge of relations with the European Parliament and national parliaments.
Previously, András worked in the Competition Directorate General of the European Commission. He first specialised in antitrust cases in the broadband and broadcasting sector and the application of the EC regulatory framework for electronic communications. He then contributed to the development of the strategic direction of DG Competition’s activities in competition law enforcement, competition policy initiatives and competition advocacy as strategic planning and policy co-ordinator.
Before joining the European Commission, András was working in the Brussels office of the law firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, where he was member of the Antitrust, Competition and Trade Practice Group and specialised in telecommunications, media and technology cases.
András taught competition law and regulation in various universities and colleges and frequently publishes articles and studies. He is a member of the Review Board of "Oxford Competition Law" by Oxford University Press.
He graduated in Law at the ELTE University of Budapest, and holds a Master’s Degree in European Community Law from the College of Europe in Bruges.
