Economist

An Renckens graduated as Commercial Engineer at the University of Antwerp in 2004. In 2005 she obtained the diploma Master of Science in Economics, with a specialization in Industrial Organization, at the University of Leuven. An holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Antwerp. As part of her research agenda on mergers she did internships at the Directorate General for Competition of the European Commission (2005-2006) and at RBB Economics (2007). From May 2008 until June 2010 she has been working for RBB Economics, advising clients on the economics of competition law. In June 2010 she joined the European Commission where she started as desk officer for Belgium in the Directorate General for Economic and Financial Affairs (DG ECFIN), and where she currently works as an economist in the Directorate General for Competition (DG COMP).
