Alessandro Greco is the Head of the EU and competition law practice at Eversheds Bianchini in Italy, with an experience of more than 11 years as antitrust specialist. Alessandro has a significant experience in assisting companies during the investigations before the Italian Antitrust Authority, and in general in all areas of EU and Italian antitrust law: the assessment of antitrust filing obligations and the preparation of national and European merger filings; the coordination of multi-jurisdictional merger filings; the legal and economic analysis of restrictive agreements and of conducts possibly giving rise to abuses of dominant position, antitrust compliance programs and leniency applications. His practice also focuses on litigation before administrative and civil courts.

Alessandro is author of several articles, publications and releases for Global Competition Review and other major antitrust directories on many Italian competition enforcement issues. He is a member of the International Bar Association and contributor to the IBA competition law working groups.

He graduated in law (J.D., magna cum laude) from the University of Rome “La Sapienza” in 1998 and he specialized in consumers law, in EU law and in international commercial law in the same university. In 2000, he spent a period of internship with the Italian Antitrust Authority (with the Directorate in charge of energy, gas, oil sector, and with the Directorate in charge of transports sector). He was admitted to the Italian Bar in 2001.

He obtained a Post-Graduate Diploma in EU Competition Law awarded by King’s College London in 2002 and a Master of Laws (LL.M.) with merit from the London School of Economics and Political Science in 2003.

Of Italian mother tongue, he speaks English and French and is proficient in Spanish.
