Adinda Sinnaeve is currently working in the Directorate General for Competition of the European Commission. She holds a law degree from the University of Ghent (Belgium), an LL.M degree and a PhD degree from the University of Tübingen (Germany). Her PhD thesis dealt with conflicts between EC law and national law arising from the recovery of unlawful state aid. Since March 2009 she is Deputy Head of the State Aid Policy unit in DG Competition. She dealt in particular with the State aid rules for Services of General Economic Interest, the de minimis Regulation, and the General Block Exemption Regulation. Adinda Sinnaeve is the author of many articles on EU State aid control (see e.g. the chapter on State aid procedures in: Heidenhain, European State Aid Law – Handbook, 2010). She is also a member of the Editorial Board of “European State Aid Law Quarterly”.
