David Gerber’s ‘Global Competition’ provides an invaluable contribution to the understanding of the mutual influence competition regimes and practices exert on each other throughout the world, fifteen years after having offered a comprehensive and cross-disciplinary overview of the development of European competition laws, then as now, to much acclaim. Mindful of the present, David Gerber also lays the foundation in his book for robust scholarly work in the future with his insistence on devising the right analytical tools, supported by the requisite data. This matters as the growing tide of globalization prompts stakeholders to form a view which must be informed, not only by the national context, but also by regional or supra-regional considerations. By their quality and their variety, the perspectives brought together in this collection of contributions provide an exciting and rich addition to the overall reflection on the globalization of competition law.
