Editorial (Online markets and offline welfare effects : The Internet, competition, society and democracy - Oxford, 22 May 2017)

Le 22 mai 2017, le Centre for Competition Law and Policy (« CCLP ») de l’Université d’Oxford a animé une conférence sur « Les marches en ligne et les effets de bien-être hors-ligne – L’internet, la concurrence, la société et la démocratie ». Ce recueil réunit neuf contributions d’intervenants de l’événement précisant les points clés de leurs présentations et des réflexions supplémentaires concernant les défis que présentent les marchés en ligne, big data et big data analytics, et le rôle pour l’application du droit de la concurrence.

On 22 May 2017, the University of Oxford Centre for Competition Law and Policy (“CCLP”) hosted a conference on “Online markets and offline welfare effects – The Internet, competition, society and democracy.” The event brought together more than 170 delegates from academia, practice, industry, enforcement agencies and judiciaries, to discuss the changing dynamics of competition. Representatives from the press attended as well, reporting both during the event and in subsequent days. 2. The stimulating discussions focused on the changing technological landscape and market dynamics, and how these may affect competition and welfare.
