What are the main criteria on which you select an outside counsel? I can say that the following are the main criteria: Ability to provide a useful opinion that enables us to take an enlightened decision. As any in-house lawyer I am not looking for an opinion that would simply and only state the principles of law. In that sense, to have added value the opinion should give clear advice on potential risks, likelihood of occurrence, and how consequences could be managed. Capacity to provide for innovative solutions is favored. This entails commercial awareness, industry knowledge and strategic thinking.
