The Turkish Competition Board takes interim measures against the telecommunications incumbent on alleged predatory pricing on internet broadband access whitout waiting for the telecommunications regulator’s opinion (TTNet / A.S.)

Pursuant to Article 6 of the Law on the Protection of Competition n° 4054 (the “Law”), abuse of dominant position is prohibited. It is forbidden, pursuant to paragraph (a) of Article 6 “to prevent, directly or indirectly, other undertakings in its area of commercial activities or practices which aim to impede the activities of the competitors in the market”. TTNet A.S., operating as a separate legal personality under the control of Türk Telecom, with its main area of activity being retail broadband internet services provisioning, was established on April 26, 2006.
