The Romanian Competition Council holds public procurement as a priority (Report: The challenges of the Single Market and the competition in sensitive sectors)

On October 14 2010 the Competition Council issued a Report entitled ‘The Challenges of the Single Market and the Competition in Sensitive Sectors'. Drafted in collaboration with a Romanian Centre for Economic Policies (‘CEROPE') and the Romanian Academic Society (‘SAR'), the Report focuses on a number of sectors and identifies what the Competition Council considers to be the most pressing competition law concerns in the respective sectors. AS such, the Report constitutes a valuable insight into the Competition Council's enforcement priorities. The Report contains nine sections dealing with the following sectors: the regulated prices and their impact in the economy, the Romanian agricultural food sector, competition in the food retail sector, competition in public procurement,
