The Moldovan Competition Authority orders a municipal administration to annul its discriminatory regulations on the location of street vending units (Chisinau Municipal Council)

On 24 May 2018, the Competition Council of the Republic of Moldova (CC) [1] found the Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC) [2] in violation of Competition Act for imposing restrictions on the location of the street vending units [3]. The CC’s investigation was prompted by the complaint of Alitela Prim SRL concerning the allegedly anti-competitive provisions of the Regulation on retail trading activities in the municipality of Chisinau, approved by the CMC.
