Michael is a partner in the IP Group. He advises a diverse range of businesses on maximising the protection, enforcement and extraction of value from their intellectual property rights. His principal area of expertise is patents especially multijurisdictional disputes. Michael is a widely acknowledged expert in the patent area and has represented clients in numerous reported cases, in a diverse range of technologies from pharmaceuticals, biotechnology and medical devices through to electronics, software and communications. In addition to major patent litigation disputes, Michael has been involved in considering a wide variety of technologies for the purpose of due diligence for investment, acquisition and licensing transactions and for risk analysis and freedom to operate. He has extensive experience of assisting clients with their IP strategy and structure and establishing best practice for the management of their IP portfolio and IP risk.
